One of the good things about changing seasons is being forced to change out my closet. It’s a great time for me to find some old gems I forgot about or get rid of some things that are old or maybe just maybe even out of style. This silk paisley blouse from Jcrew is one of the gems! I absolutely love it! Every time I pull it out I get excited all over again as if I am purchasing it for the first time. For me, that is the sign of a truly good buy and further reassurance I made a good purchase. It has the best combination of colors and is super easy to dress up with a skirt for work or my ripped boyfriends for a casual weekend. The accessorizing options are endless. The top pairs well with coordinating colors and is really complementary to warmer tones. Although it has been sold out at JCrew for a while, I was able to round up a few online for you to indulge. 🙂
Happy Monday Everyone!! I hope you all had a fantastic Easter weekend!
I want to start today’s post by saying I am a firm believer that leopard is a neutral and a wardrobe staple. Everyone needs the leopard flats, pumps, hand bag of your choosing (I shamefully couldn’t choose so I have a clutch & satchel), and a chic blouse. Pair any of the fore mentioned items with a great pair of jeans and third piece and voila! chic outfit. One day I was out shopping with my mom and found this adorable pink leopard peplum without even trying. I was getting off the escalator and when i looked up, there it was. Naturally I tried it on and have been obsessed ever since and so are some of my girlfriends. There are at least three other women in my office that have this same top. After a few accidental #twinning days, we decided to coordinate a little better on who gets which days etc. It’s super easy to dress up for a day at the office or wear casually with jeans and flats like I did. Now that it’s warmer, I’ll have to try it out with some shorts. Stay tuned!
To say that I love Spring would be an understatement. It has to be my favorite season! Everything is fresh and new and after a long, cold, drab winter, nothing makes you feel fresh like the open toed sandals and bright colors. I (along with every other breathing female) have a soft spot for shoes [ Insert Chris Crocker “OMG Shoes!” here]. I feel so confident in a great pair of strappy heels or a bright pair of comfy lace-ups. Either way, you can’t go wrong this season. I have rounded up a few of the styles and trends I’m currently crushing and adding to my cart. Which ones are your faves? What shoe trends are you loving this Spring?
There’s just something about this time of year that I love. The weather is warmer, the trees and bushes are starting to bloom and everything about spring just feels better. I know for me, once the new year hits, my mind is straight to spring and most importantly spring fashion. I just get that itch to pack up my boots and sweaters and start justifying my shorter dresses and sandals. There’s nothing that helps me justify my transition more than Charleston Fashion Week. I mean, it has to be the unofficial start of Spring in the South. I have had the privilege of attending the past two years and was especially thrilled to be a part of the 10th anniversary this year. The thrill of fresh emerging designers, impeccably dressed peers and those grand white tents just gets me so excited I can hardly contain myself. If that isn’t enough to fill a week (or weekend) then there’s always the shopping on King St. Check out my outfit and details below from my first day of wandering aimlessly through one of the most (if not the most) beautiful cities the South has to offer. This white top was chic and cool for the 80 degree day and these boyfriends… there are no words for how comfortable they are!
Happy hump day loves!! I have to say it feels good to be back blogging again. Even if no one reads this and I don’t amass hundreds of thousands of followers and become insanely popular (insert white girl emoji here), at least I’m pursuing my dream and getting my creative voice out there with a fresh start. Many of you may know of my former blog and website: the fancier fan. It was great little blog and taught me so many things about plunging into the overpopulated world of fashion/ lifestyle blogging. It was a learning experience fo-sho and I was sad to part ways. Buuuuut, when the real world called, and called and kept calling, I had to close the laptop, stop taking selfies and focus on my “real job”. I also decided to take on a mass re-branding of my jewelry company and marry my love of jewelry making with my deep desire to blog…..So… Welcome to Reese’s Hardwear: the love child of my two passions.
I hope you’ll like what I have to say every now and then and maybe even learn from some of my successes, struggles, insecurities, and even epic failures from time to time. So many questions plague my brain every day. What to wear? The answer is either A: I have NOTHING to wear or B: I just don’t know what to wear. Is it going to be winter or summer today? (In NC this a legitimate question year round). What to eat for dinner? In this department, I was screwed from the start. Unless we were eating at Granny’s house, this question has always taken my parents and now my husband and I at least 3 hours to answer. It is painful and the dreaded, inevitable part of my day. What to eat? (or not eat?) in general. This is a biggie for me in the personals section. I have always struggled with my weight and body image for as long as I can remember so the debate to eat healthy or eat something that tastes good is more like World War 3. The struggle is real- every day and I plan to navigate through it one blog post at a time! Below are some of my favorites from yesteryear.
