Zaful Floral Dress

Happy Halloween!!! I hope everyone was and is super safe this Halloween! I’m not much for the holiday and never really have been. I’m terrible at coming up with super clever /  genius costume ideas and I’m not big on spending the big $$ to make it look as awesome as it should- basically, I’m pretty lame in the Halloween dept buuuut I do love a good Fall Festival which is what I’ll be doing tonight. Every year our church (Parkwood Baptist if you are in the area and looking for something fun to take the kiddos to) does a big fall carnival complete with all you can eat food, candy, games and activities. Luckily for me, Zaful has me outfitted head to toe for the big event. They have so many great pieces that can be used to dress up for a night and still utilize after the festivities are over. I chose this gorgeous pleated floral dress and double buckle belt for a more prairie look so I’m at least kind of festive this year. This chain detail bag is one that has been on my wishlist for a while. It’s the perfect dupe to this designer version and it’s only $22! I have been using it non stop and it is the perfect cognac color to go with everything black, brown and in between.

I hope you guys are safe in whatever you do tonight and don’t get sick from all the delicious candy!

Fall Wrap Sweater

TGIF Y’all!!!! I don’t know about you but I have been dragging myself out of bed this week so I am particularly excited for the weekend so I can get caught up on some much needed R&R and of course get my house and life back in order. I feel like I cannot get enough coffee in my system fast enough but I know a good burst of energy is coming! In the mean time, I’m totally snuggling up in this cozy knitted wrap sweater from SheIn. It is so comfy and totally adorable I find myself wearing it around the house over camis and out and about styled up more. It’s a cool pale grey color so it pairs amazingly with other soft neutral colors- like my sweeeeeeeeettt pom pom sneaks from Sam Edelman. I think I sold 10 other customers on getting a pair of these the day I bought mine. It was love at first slip on and I couldn’t help but walk around the shoe floor at Belk telling everyone how comfortable and cute they were. The hardest decision I had to make was picking a color. I could make a strong argument for all three (pink, grey, black) but finally settled on my gut instinct. I was immediatly drawn to the pink so I got them and have loved wearing them ever since. If you are thinking “what the heck would you wear these with?!”, the answer is EVERYTHING! – jeans, dresses, shorts (if you are living in an area where it is still hitting 85 degrees) .

I hope you guys have a great weekend and find lots of things to do! If you are in the Charlotte area come see me at the Checkers game this weekend! My husband is a huge hockey fan and has been working for the Checkers for 3 years now and I still don’t have a clue what happens on that ice until someone scores or fights but it’s always a good time and I’ll have some of my best girlfriends with me to laugh through it.

Pink + Stripes

Happy Monday everyone! Did you have a great weekend?! I sure did which is making today extra hard! So I sure hope your week is starting off full of coffee and much needed energy! I have found that on days when you don’t necessarily feel the best, it is even more important to look your best. It naturally helps boost your mood. don’t get me wrong, I’m not above a good pair of leggings and loose sweater, but it usually makes me feel more tired (because it’s so cozy!) and less than professional. This pink + stripes pant ensemble is the perfect compromise. The wide leg fit of the pant is sleek yet not constricting so I can still be a little comfortable on days when it takes me a little longer to perk up. The pop of hot pink is cheery but also keeps the look polished because of the silk fabrication. It has a cool loose fit and hangs nicely. I have a love hate relationship with silk because it is super flattering and the garments are always quality but it is devil hard to care for and super high maintenance. If you aren’t up for the dry cleaning bill or going through your day on egg shells trying not to get anything on the precious fabric, then you may want to opt for a woven polyester blend that hangs similarly. Throw on some classic heels and accessories and you’re ready for that not so awesome Monday!
