Pearl Jam

Rise and Shine everyone!!! Hopefully by now you’ve had at least one cup of coffee, I live on an obscene amount so I’m two cups in already! I can’t tell if it’s the caffeine or the excitement of the weekend looming at the end of the day but I’m feeling fab today!

Embellished Ripped Jeans

Today’s post is all about these jeans!!!!! Ever since my office went to a casual dress code, I have been obsessed with stocking up on good jeans. I have always loved a good pair of boyfriends or skinny jeans but I could only wear them on the weekends and I basically live in gym clothes then so it just didn’t make sense to invest in more than a pair or two at a time and they were usually clean and super basic. Now it’s like I cannot get enough and LOVE wearing them every day. I love the step and frayed hem details that are trending now but I’m particularly partial to the embellishment and details on the jeans. I remember when I was 15 I had a pair of jeans I got paint all over. Of course it was by accident and they turned into my paint jeans for crafts and projects, but the more paint I got on them, the more I loved them and eventually started wearing them out. My dad of course hated them, but I just loved how cool they looked with all the colors organically splattered and smudged all over. Now they are everywhere! Ralph Lauren, Zara and Alice + Olivia are all doing them. I may have been a little ahead of my time with the old paint (and these painted flowers), but I was so behind on embellishments until I saw these gorg pearl jeans from Nordstrom.

Ripped jeans look and sweater

I can honestly say it never occurred to me to put pearls on some ripped jeans – which is nuts considering my love affair for all pearl things – and now i’m thinking whyyyy not!!??!? The best part is they are super affordable (under $100) which is rare for a good fitting pair of trendy / embellished jeans. Even thought the embellishments are spaced and relatively subtle, I kept the look simple with creamy neutrals and popped my fun googly eyed bag. This sweater is everything ( so soft! and not too hot) and these sneaks from Steve Madden are so comfy! I love how they give a seasonal update to the classic white sneaker. The pop of metallic in the back is one of my favorite parts since I also love all things gold. More and more, I find myself loving the details on things.

I hope you guys have the best Friday and weekend! Things are about to get pretty nuts with Charleston Fashion Week coming up (can’t believe it’s been a year already – remember my first post back ?!) so I’m really enjoying the fact that Wes and I have no plans this weekend. It’s giving me time to catch up on some much needed cleaning and R&R.
