Happy Monday y’all – we made it to another one and I’m a little more excited to start my week with a fun ruffle dress. Mondays are particularly hard for me to get going since I am usually still on a weekend high. I find it a little easier to get motivated when I feel confident and put in a little more outfit effort. Today’s ruffle dress is one of my summer favorites and also one of my looks from TBSCon a few weeks ago.
Last week I posted my full recap of TBSCon and talked about my new gal pals and everything I ate. This week I’m going into more detail on #whatiwore . Within the past year I’ve really started looking for new brands and getting outside the bubble I was in – shopping wise. I still love my go-to brands and retailers and know what works for me, but I love discovering new brands with fresh takes on the trends I’ve been seeing. I immediately fell for this dress because 1. it’s white and I’m a sucker for a good summer white. It’s just so fresh and clean and classic 2. because of the dramatic amount of ruffles! this takes a classic, clean look and gives it the modern, trendy feel I love to explore each season. The tie shoulders add the extra touch with options to wear them loose or tied up in bows.
Since my overall goal of the trip was to “pack light” (even though I’m still debating if I actually accomplished that) I only took a few pairs of shoes – the ones that went with most outfits but still made a statement and were “me”. These gold block heel sandals are my faveeees. Since I’m obsessed with gold and consider it my base metallic of choice and pair it with everything, these were a no-brainer. I love the simplicity of the silhouette and how the metallic coloring does all the talking. They also paired perfectly with this sweet cotton ruffle dress and my fave spotted clutch. I’ve had this Rebecca Minkoff bag for years and still carry it regularly. It’s sold out and no longer available but I’ve linked several similar options below.
Hope you guys have a fab Monday and of course, don’t forget to grab your glasses and check out the eclipse today! – or don’t if you’re sick of hearing about it!
