Mornin’ y’all. With the swift change in temps I jumped at the opportunity to break out a few transitional fall pieces – including but not limited to this pleated skirt. If you don’t have one already, I highly recommend getting a leather (or faux depending on ethics and budget) skirt. It is a warmer style and looks great with OTK boots, flats, sneaks, loafers or heels.
Happy Tuesday friends & happy short week! (at least for me) I’m getting extra excited for this upcoming weekend since we have Monday off and Wes and I are taking a mini vacay to the beach! I don’t know about y’all but after the past few weeks, this vacay is much needed. I could say the same about this glorious break in weather we are getting in NC! It’s got me itching for sweater weather and fall temps which is why I’m starting today by sharing this killer bow top with you.
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed it getting darker just a tick earlier lately!? I am in such a tug of war with the seasons right now! With the official start of football (pre-season at least), I find myself craving fall, yet the other half of me is holding on to summer with all my might! It’s so hard to imagine darkness at 6:00 pm and 30 degree temps in the Carolinas. While I cannot possibly be excited about the cold or the darkness, I do love fall fashion. It is cozy and fun to play with different layers and trends. I really love today’s transitional look! It is so simple yet classic. A good pair of jeans, neutral button front top and a chic silk neck scarf gives you an outfit that pretty much rocks and looks pretty effortless. The best part: you probably already have all these key pieces in your wardrobe. I stuck with the neutral colors, but you can easily make it your own by using a printed top or scarf or even some brighter tones. While I am a total accessories girl, sometimes I feel like less really is more (or I’m feeling lazy- today it’s the first). I kept it totally earthy and neutral with the grey croc cross body and python heels. At first glance I kind of felt like I was giving off that Crocodile Dundee / Steve Irwin look, but I’m choosing to think in terms of Safari Chic! 🙂 Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Good Morning Loves!
Now that it is officially August, I’m sharing some transitional fall outfits using some of my favorite spring & staple pieces. Today’s post is all about this stunning Vince Camuto sheer floral tunic. The best advice I have heard in regards to shopping is “Buy less, buy better.” However, I also believe that if you are thinking about it for at least a month or even two weeks and you still love it and want it as much as you did the first time you saw it, then it’s a safe purchase. I honestly thought on this piece long and hard before purchasing because it was such a unique piece. I generally try to stay away from pieces that are too unique and anti-versatile but this top just stood out to me over and over again. One of my close friends even purchased it first and let me borrow hers for a test run to see if I would even like it on / liked how it could be styled. Turns out, it is the most flattering yet subtly sexy top I have ever put on. Its flowing nature and pale pink color are so feminine and chic I have a hard time taking it off. For spring, it was great with colored cotton bottoms, but for Fall and cooler temps I am pretty excited to pair it with some leather leggings, leather jacket and dark jeans. To finish this look I pulled out some of my staple accessories from last year. This felt hat (similar linked below), massive clutch and simple, yet sleek booties (all still available!) gave it a darker and more complete finish. It turns out, the more I wear it, the more ideas I get on how to wear it. So, stay tuned for more looks with this top!

“I’m walking on sunshine” and wearing it too! I have always had a soft spot for yellow and actually purchased this jacket way back in high school. My feelings about it have come and gone over the years but I just couldn’t ever let myself get rid of it. I have to say, as I am currently on a LOVE LOVE LOVE it streak, I’m so glad I have it. It has the best fit and looks so chic over jeans, dresses and skirts. Even better, yellow is a hot color trend for fall so I’m glad I have a leg up and can cross this off my fall wardrobe update list. I’m super obsessed with these Prada sunglasses. I look for any excuse to wear them. Calling these over-sized is an understatement but the side detail and rich red color are everything and more. This outfit is great for summer nights and is super light weight with the cotton stripe shell layered underneath, but can also easily transition into fall by pairing it with a dark denim or even black bottom. Since it is on average 100 degrees every day and it is still summer in NC, I won’t be posting any transitional outfits until at least August. I take my seasons like I take my holidays: one at a time! 😀 So enjoy the rest of summer and all my bright colors but stay tuned: I will be gradually transitioning them all in posts over the next few weeks.
