“Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa we’re half way there…” I honestly cannot believe how fast this week is going! Does anyone else wake up with Bon Jovi in their head on random Wednesdays?! Maybe not, but I know one thing most women get pumped about and it’s a great ruffle neck floral dress. I can honestly say this is my favorite dress to date and I am beyond obsessed with it.
Happy Hump Day everyone 😀 !!! I always feel like the halfway mark should be more encouraging and motivating that it really is. If I’m being honest (which I like to be with you guys), it’s too far from either weekend. The goodness of the last one has worn off and the next one is still 2-3 work days (depending on the time you read this today) from the next one. It’s a tough spot for sure. Luckily I have this bright and cheery outfit to share with you today! This dress was one I had in my cart for a while but never pulled the trigger on it because I just wasn’t sure how I would like it. I was killing time in the mall before dinner with a girlfriend one night a few weeks ago and found it in the midst of the clearance racks. Still unsure, I picked it up and noticed the seriously awesome price and that it happened to be in my size. For a ripe $8.00, I thought “what the heck”. I got home and tried it on and had a serious OMG moment. This dress fits perfectly and is so flattering and really comfortable for a long day at work. It even has pockets!!! I couldn’t and still really can’t believe I hesitated for so long, but sometimes you just never know. With the exception of a few times, I try to always give things a shot – even if your not sure. You never know when something that looks “so-so” on the hanger is going to be ahhh-mazing on. Or, it could be a total knock out on the hanger and look like crap on the body. I am preaching to myself and the choir when I say you have to be open minded. I have found some of my favorite pieces in the most unexpected items.

Happy Thursday everyone! We are so close to a long weekend I can taste it! I’m so excited about some down time to relax in the sun and get some DIY projects done and to finish a few other books on my reading list. We have been so busy traveling lately I feel like I need a vacation from my vacations. I did manage to find a few minutes to download a few pictures from my England trip! It’s the first time I have seen them since I snapped them and I’m so excited to share them!! We saw so many beautiful things while we were there and it is pretty exciting to relive it all. Today’s post is from two areas we visited. Leamington Spa and the Cotswolds. Both areas are so gorgeous and overflowing with charm and historical buildings. Several of the buildings in the Cotswolds had thatched roofs. It was really refreshing to see a different way of life. Both towns are nestled in the picturesque countryside and maintain a slower pace. All the shops (except for the pubs and restaurants) close no later than 6 and there are no “one stop shops”, at least not in the smaller towns. If you need groceries for dinner you go see your fish man, mean man, cheese man and wine man. Shop small took on a whole new meaning and I have to say I really liked it.
I’ll warn you in advance about the outfit posts: I packed for cooler rainy weather since every forecast and everyone in England said it would be cool and rainy every day. Lucky for us, we experienced unseasonably warm and sunny conditions which made our days that much better, but outfits sparse. You all know how much I love these cut off shorts and how white and denim is my go-to. Well, on this trip these shorts and white tops were my saving grace! They kept me cool and kept me from wearing gym clothes the whole week. I swapped out some of the accessories but managed to live in some type of espadrille and either my Longchamp bag or this awesome cross-body the entire time we were on the go.

AH!! It is almost Friday y’all can you taste it?! I hope you all have been having a good week. It has been so hard for me to get back in the groove. Mentally, I’m just checked out and it seems like the work days last forever! Thankfully, the weekend is just right around the corner and I can finally get caught up on some much needed Zzzz’s and enjoy this amazing summer weather I came home to. This hot, sunny and recently humid weather has made these cut off shorts a go-to. You’ll have to forgive me for wearing them every chance I get. They go with everything and they are super duper comfy. They have a relaxed, loose fit and the rips and snags in the fabric give them a chill summer edge. They are also on sale right now so hop to it and click the link below to get yourself a pair, you won’t be sorry! While I’m definitely wearing these shorts right now, I’ve laid this stellar jacket to the side until temps drop back down to more jacket friendly weather or I venture back out West. This is another jacket I took with me to Cali and this outfit was one of my favorites. You know how much I love embroidery and so I couldn’t resist this purchase. It layers well with everything I have tried so far and the colors are so rich. The billowy sleeves are everything! They make just the right statement without being in the way or super crazy. It also comes in a fierce sunflower yellow color that is also amazing. I’ve linked it for you below in case pink just isn’t your color.
Free People Embroidered Jacket also available in sunflower combo , Denim & Supply Cut Off Shorts, Sam Edelman Lace Up Sandals, Blush Bag (other colors here), Navy Tank, Sunglasses, Earrings, Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Hot Berry

I don’t know about all of you, but this morning called for a large coffee! There is so much going on with work and family right now It’s hard to keep everything straight. Since today is a day to get $tuff done, I got my butt in gear this morning and swung by my favorite drive thru. Lucky for me, I got my first reward on the new star system and now get to enjoy another XL dose of caffeine somewhere around Friday when I’m panicking about how much I have to do this weekend. Anyways, I digress, I’ll be sharing all the beautiful details of my upcoming plans soon, so stay posted!
Today’s look is all about this weekend. As I mentioned earlier, there is so much going on! My friend Dianna (aka the Burger Diva- if you don’t know then get the scoop from my post here) is having her fabulous birthday party this weekend at VBGB and it’s an all white theme. A great way to lead into Memorial day weekend and summer right!? I thought so too at first, but then I starting getting those same jitters about all white as I did about denim on denim. I really didn’t want to go the standard dress route. It just seemed too easy. I wanted to be brave and use this party to embrace the opportunity to add some these dramatic white blouses I have been seeing to my wardrobe. It’s definitely one of my favorite trends of the season so I went for it and today am giving it a test drive. This bow front billowy sleeve top was the biggest risk with the highest reward (as my bosses like to say). It immediately drew my eye and I knew I had to try it. Once it came, I almost immediately dismissed it for the fear that it wouldn’t look good on me, that I would look silly or that I wouldn’t have “the body” for it. Boy am I glad I kicked all those silly insecurities to the curb & tried it! It was so much fun to wear and even more fun to style with some soft, colorful accessories. These espadrilles are so and I mean so cute and comfortable and my adorable blush bag is only $26. Talk about a steal compared to $1,200! I’ll definitely have all these pieces on repeat and will be taking them along with me on a few adventures this summer.
What are some of your favorite trends / pieces this season?
