fall stripe cardigan look

Happy Thursday day babes. Today I’m tackling a topic that, somehow, in 2017 in the South is still a “hot” one. You probably guessed it: white after Labor Day! I’m sure I’ve told you guys I’m not much on the fashion rules, especially when it comes to white. I really like white and feel like it truly has life year round. And tbh, as long as it’s still reaching high 80’s & 90’s, I’m not busting out the black or dark washes. So, today I’m sharing one of the ways I transition my white jeans to Fall with this stripe cardigan.¬† Continue reading

Yellow Stripes & Leopard Spots

“I’m walking on sunshine” and wearing it too! I have always had a soft spot for yellow and actually purchased this jacket way back in high school. My feelings about it have come and gone over the years but I just couldn’t ever let myself get rid of it. I have to say, as I am currently on a LOVE LOVE LOVE it streak, I’m so glad I have it. It has the best fit and looks so chic over jeans, dresses and skirts. Even better, yellow is a hot color trend for fall so I’m glad I have a leg up and can cross this off my fall wardrobe update list. I’m super obsessed with these Prada sunglasses. I look for any excuse to wear them. Calling these over-sized is an understatement but the side detail and rich red color are everything and more. This outfit is great for summer nights and is super light weight with the cotton stripe shell layered underneath, but can also easily transition into fall by pairing it with a dark denim or even black bottom. Since it is on average 100 degrees every day and it is still summer in NC, I won’t be posting any transitional outfits until at least August. I take my seasons like I take my holidays: one at a time! ūüėÄ So enjoy the rest of summer and all my bright colors but stay tuned: I will be gradually transitioning them all in posts over the next few weeks.

Taste the Rainbow

Taste the Rainbow

You might not be able to taste the rainbow or paint with all the colors of the wind, but this silk top will make you happy the second you put it on! I often find that even when you don’t feel “good” you should still try to look good and this is my new go-to happy top. It is vibrant and flowing and a super chic boho top. And, as if the color, pattern, and smocking weren’t enough to make you fall in love, the tassel detail takes the cake! Obsessed is an understatement and I’m so excited to share this with you all on a Monday when we are all struggling to come down off that weekend high. Since it was blistering hot this weekend, I paired it with my favorite white shorts and lace up sandals and a small cross body for running errands and other impromptu stops. It is definitely one of my easier outfits and perfect for the weekend. I have never come across a Chloe Oliver top I didn’t just die for, you can’t go wrong! I hope everyone has an easy Monday!

Hello Tuesday!! How awesome is it to start the week on day two?! My favorite Mondays are the ones spent by the pool eating cool treats and soaking up the sun with friends and family; which is exactly what I did! This year is the first year since Wes and I have been together that we haven’t been at the beach for the week of the 4th. It totally threw me too! Strange as it sounds, I just couldn’t get myself together with a new plan, mostly because of the threat of rain. It was totally bumming me out and making me super nervous to commit to any plans. Turns out, the Charlotte area (or at least my neck of the woods) only got a few showers in the evenings and had some clouds in the AM. By the time I got done with bootcamp and made myself some lunch each¬†day, it was bright and sunny and totally perfect! God was totally looking out for me and bummed out spirit. He knew exactly what I needed and gave me the most restful and relaxing weekend with my family and friends. I had plenty of ice cream, got well into¬†The Bell Jar which has been on my reading list for quite some time now and even managed to crank out some DIY pom sandals (stay tuned for that post!)

I spent most of the weekend in a swimsuit and cover-up so there wasn’t too much excitement in the outfit dept. However, I did manage to get myself dressed for dinner last night and opted for this amazing light weight gauzy- gingham top and the white version of my all too fabulous distressed boyfriend shorts. It was comfy and laid back and just what the evening called for. The best part: all of it is on sale! Use the links below to help yourself to these amazing summer pieces. If you haven’t tried them already, you have to get your hands on these shorts. You’ll be living in them!!!

What did you all do for the 4th? Any crazy fun family  traditions?

Happy Thursday everyone! We are so close to a long weekend I can taste it! I’m so excited about some down time to relax in the sun and get some DIY projects done¬†and to finish a few other books on my reading list. We have been so busy traveling lately I feel like I need a vacation from my vacations. I did manage to find a few minutes to download a few pictures from my England trip! It’s the first time I have seen them since I snapped them and I’m so excited to share them!! We saw so many beautiful things while we were there and it is pretty exciting to relive it all. Today’s post is from two areas we visited. Leamington Spa and the Cotswolds. Both areas are so gorgeous and overflowing with charm and historical buildings. Several of the buildings in the Cotswolds had thatched roofs. It was really refreshing to see a different way of life. Both towns are nestled in the picturesque countryside and maintain a slower pace. All the shops (except for the pubs and restaurants) close no later than 6 and there are no “one stop shops”, at least not in the smaller towns. If you need groceries for dinner you go see your fish man, mean man, cheese man and wine man. Shop small¬†took on a whole new meaning and I have to say I really liked it.

I’ll warn you in advance about the outfit posts: I packed for cooler rainy weather since every forecast and everyone in England said it would be cool and rainy every day. Lucky for us, we experienced unseasonably warm and sunny conditions which made our days that much better, but outfits sparse. You all know how much I¬†love these cut off shorts and how white and denim is my go-to. Well, on this trip these shorts and white tops were my saving grace! They kept me cool and kept me from wearing gym clothes the whole week. ¬†I swapped out some of the accessories but managed to live in some type of espadrille and either my Longchamp bag or this awesome cross-body the entire time we were on the go.
