Good morning everyone! I hope you guys had a great weekend and have had your week get off to a good start! Today I’m finally recapping my amazing trip to Chicago for #tbscon. I want to start by prefacing that over a week later, I’m still on a high and am so energized by all the amazing people I met and the things I learned.
Was crazy to say the least. I landed in Chicago early and was so pumped about it because I thought I would have time to check in to the hotel early and see the town but after a series of unfortunate events I was lucky to make it to the #tbscon welcome party with Vera Bradley on time. I was put on the local train with 20+ stops vs the express train that would have gotten me from the airport to the hotel in 1/3 the time. The local train also put me 1 mile from the hotel so I had an embarrassing 1 mile walk with by bags. Bright side: I got to see Michigan Ave and some good shopping spots and ate at the Chick fil A on the way. I finally got checked into the hotel after a few hours of delays and got everything hung up since I packed so tightly. The rooms were gorg and modern and had a great view overlooking some rooftop community gardens and some more buildings. I landed an amazing roommate (Megan) and we bonded pretty quickly after venting about our collective travel problems we encountered throughout the day then headed out to the welcome party I mentioned. Vera Bradley hosted the most amazing kick off event for us at the Sugar Factory Chicago. We had sweet treats, candy cocktails and some pretty incredible bites. Several of us had been chatting via facebook or instagram for weeks leading up to the conference so it was so awesome to meet Jordan, Betsey, Chanel and Jenna in person.

The staff at the W Chicago Lakeshore (the official hotel of #TBSCon 2017) was amazing! As I mentioned, there was a hefty delay in getting into the room, so the concierge kindly offered up complementary beverages that Megan and I enjoyed as it rained cats and dogs after the welcome party. We also got super hungry and decided to have deep dish pizza (delivered) at 11pm. Highly recommend the pizza… not so much the chosen hour.
delicious Chicago deep dish pizza
even on a hazy, windy day, the river was gorg!
Friday was a jam packed day full of learning, networking and eating delicious food. Chicago has incredible dining options and lunch with Marc Fisher at the Boarding House was no exception. We also got to preview their fall lineup and I have to say I am completely obsessed!! Slides, mules, brocade, velvet and embellishment are all included in the Fall collection and it’s really hard to choose a single favorite. I got it narrowed down to three and you can shop them here or below. ( brocade booties, slides, velvet booties). One of my favorite places we went around Chicago was hands down the Hampton Social – infamous for their vast selection of rosé, the rosé wall and of course frosé – ALL of which were amazing!!!! This was such a fun night of getting to know even more incredible women and total blog boss babes : Alicia, Megan, Megan, and Jenna. After a beautiful lunch we went back to the W for a little networking session and champagne where we met so many amazing brands. This doughnut wall at the Lauren James booth was everything! It was so hard not to just pluck them right off the wall and eat! Luckily, they came prepared for doughnut obsessed bloggers and had boxes of Stan’s doughnuts for us to eat! Stan’s was also super close to the hotel and a great option for coffee and breakfast.
those mules though!!!!

Saturday was another long day and sadly our last of #tbscon. We had an incredible breakfast courtesy of Charming Charlie and heard from keynote speakers Lawyer Lookbook, A Southern Drawl and Shop Dandy along with Rachel Martino and a panel of reps from some awesome brands. The flowers were gorgeous and the info was incredible. I can’t wait to implement everything I took away from this weekend and hope you’ve already noticed a difference and improvement to the site. I’m so lucky to do what I do and have such a supportive audience. I want to continue to grow and evolve RH so that it best serves you and what you want to see.
As always, if there’s anything you would like to see covered or featured, please let me know in the comments or by dropping a line to my inbox. I love hearing from you guys!
Have the best Tuesday !
