Good Morning everyone! It’s grey and rainy here in Charlotte today so I thought I’d start the week off by sharing one of my looks from vacation last week. 

If you were following my insta stories you know Wes and I trekked down to Florida for a much needed get away. We had five days in the Keys, (Islamorada) and loved every minute of it even though it was the hottest we have ever been. We flew into Ft Lauderdale and drove 2 hours to the Keys, so I kept it super easy and comfy for the ride but obviously wasted no time getting in the mood. The layers were perfect for the car ride! Since I got a little chilly with the AC, this light button down was all I needed. Once we got out of the car I was smacked with humidity and quickly ditched it but was glad to have it. The punchy bright orange was also a great way to brighten up the dark floral pattern of these soft flowy shorts. I’m a huge fan of soft shorts for car rides. Chinos and jorts are great, but can get uncomfortable or ride up if sitting in the car for hours at a time.

I found these killer knotted sandals at Target and couldn’t wait to wear them and figured why not just pile on the color all at one time. They are also one of the few pairs of sandals (or any shoes) I have that fit my still swollen post-surgery foot. I kept everything else pretty basic but on-theme if you will. White fan tassel earrings and my go-to black woven round bag were the perfect finishing touches with a summery yet neutral feel. I got this bag at Zara, but it has since sold out. I linked up several other great options that are identical including a killer navy blue one.

Wes and I are traveling off an on a good bit this summer and have a few more beach trips planned so while I’m still a little “hungover” from this trip to paradise, we are already counting down to our next one at the end of June. We agreed we like spreading them out so we have stuff to look forward to when one ends. What are you guys  looking forward to this summer? Any awesome trips planned?
