holiday party look

Y’all! Today is happy everything: hump day, November, official start of the holiday season and Lauren James collection launch day! I don’t know about you guys but I love the holiday season. Halloween and pumpkins aren’t really my thing but fancy details and velvet pieces are. Lucky for this girl, the new Holiday collection from Lauren James is full of both! You’ve probably seen how much I love my other LJ pieces from previous posts on instagram, but today I’m really excited to introduce you to the scalloped velvet skirt. It’s absolutely stunning and will be an incredibly versatile addition to your wardrobe. It’s so versatile, I partnered with Lauren James for a guest blog post to show you 2 ways I style it and am showing you a 3rd in this post.  Read more to find out more about my party look and be sure to check out the Styled Sweet post today to see the other two!

Party Time!

You have to see it to believe it, but this is the perfect party skirt! Christmas green velvet, scallop hem and pockets are major wins for me when I get ready for a party. I like to be festive but still be functional and anything with pockets immediately gets my vote. You guys know how much I have been loving one shoulder styles lately so I picked up this silk double ruffle top to wear for the holidays. It gives the whole outfit a very luxurious look and the mix of all the jewel tones keeps it festive. Normally I would preach the red lip for any holiday soiree, but my go-to pink was a perfect fit for this look and paired nicely with the purple and blue tones.

STYLE TIP: Swap the silk top for a sequin one to add some extra razzle dazzle. Since I’ll be wearing this velvet skirt on repeat between now and Jan (probably longer) you can be sure you’ll see that look posted in the coming weeks.

As promised, I’ve got two more looks for you including how to wear this velvet skirt to work and how to dress it down for the weekend (complete with glitter sneaks you won’t want to miss!). Head over to my post on Lauren James today to see them and to shop the new collection.
