Party in the U S A | 4th of July Tablescape

Boom boom boom boom!

It’s the week of the 4th and I’m so excited to share with y’all my all-time fave table to date. I’ve always wanted to do a 4th of July tablescape and had so much fun putting this together. Despite a pop-up thunderstorm and Sunni & I racing to shoot the poptails before they melted, it turned out great! Scroll through to see more of my 4th of July tablescape and a festive look.

For as long as I can remember, we’ve always been at the beach or out of town on the 4th of July so I have never had the need to put together a 4th of July tablescape. When I first started planning this table, I had a million ideas for what I wanted to do and found a million more on pinterest when I went to refine my inspiration. Y’all know my philosophy on tables (and really everything) is that more is more. I love layers, levels and textures that make an otherwise plain surface come to life for the occasion. Once I sorted through all the inspiration photos and mood board I created for the holiday I settled on a mostly blue (y’all know I don’t love red) soft yet feminine table on the patio.

I started with these blue and white gingham tablecloths I had and worked up from there. Because the base was so light, I wanted to play up more blue, red and natural tones vs adding more white. I found these amazing chargers online and picked up these gorg floral plates and plaid bowls from my local Home Goods. They haven’t had much since re-opening but I managed to score some good finds. A variety of ginger jars and some dark blue tumbler glasses balanced our the light tones and added some much needed texture. Quite possibly my favorite things on the table are the custom embroidered linen napkins from Molly Ellen. I talked last week about how I’m not super into themed prints and pattern but if I do use it, I bring it in in a simple way like with napkins. I found Molly on instagram and immediately fell in love with her stuff. Her shop is full of great things and they are all this gorg. These were such a classic yet on-theme way to make the table more American.

A few other fun things I included to make my 4th of July tablescape more fun and lively include: Bomb poptails, crackerjacks for everyone, red, white & blue flowers to fill the jars and some fun paper lanterns hanging under the umbrella. For the sake of not making it feel too crowded, I opted for just a few lanterns. If you wanted a more full look you can add more. This pack comes with 20 in assorted sizes and is a great value. You could also throw in some market or string lights for added light if your gathering goes into the darker hours of the night.

I hope you all love this table as much as I do and that it helps inspire you and your gathering in some way. I for one am so excited to share my table and home with friends and family this year. Have a safe & happy 4th of July y’all!
