Creamsicle Spring Colors

My favorite thing about the Spring/ Summer season is definitely the color palette. I love all the spring colors and bright hues that can only be carried off with a great tan. Bright colors + longer days equals one happy mama. I also LOVE that Wally and I can spend our days outside. It’s better for both of us and really helps the day go by. Anyways, enough about the weather, let’s get back to Spring fashion in the prettiest spring colors.

I first found this look at Hampden during my last trip to Charleston. I tried the pieces on together because I need a top and bottom to wear while trying on the opposite piece. I never intended to wear them together but instantly fell in love with the color combo; which is so out of character or me. Historically, purple and orange have not been my colors. Not for any particular reason, but because I’ve never found anything that really jumped out at me. This gorgeous Tibi pleated top is the only orange top I currently own, but I love it so much! I would still say that a true purple isn’t my favorite color, but this lavender tone has grown on me and grown into my wardrobe as an evolution of millennial pink and I have found some pieces recently that I am truly excited about. Can’t you see the pink undertone these shorts have? It’s so pretty! Ever since ultra violet was the color of the year, I’ve felt the industry as a whole is embracing more lavender and orchid shades and I’m here for it.

Since this wasn’t a look I had packed or planned to shoot while I was on this trip, I didn’t have many things to choose from but knew I could make something work. I, of course, packed my fave convertible satchel/crossbody/backpack (also seen here) and it matched perfectly. I threw on some “extra” glittery flats to keep it somewhat casual and tamed my messy hair with my go-to pearl knotted headband. I honestly love how it turned out and I love that it just came together.

It just goes to show that when you purchase and invest in pieces that are truly you and in line with your true style, you can mix and match with just about anything.

I absolutely cannot wait for it to warm up again so I can wear these fab shorts more. What are some colors or items you have been shying away from? Let me know your fave color combos so I can give them a try!
