Call me crazy but there are few things better than a comfy tank and a good pair of broken in denim shorts. I’m getting ready for a long weekend beach trip and I’m definitely packing these tried and true denim shorts. I’ve had them for a few years now and they are perfectly broken in and comfortable. They are just one of my many “must-haves” for vacations this year. When it comes to packing for vacay and Summer in general, I find that less is more. With scorching temps and beach vibes all around, I opt for versatile basics and one-piece wonders. #1 STELLAR SHADES

Funky shapes, cool colors and retro styles are hotter than hot this year. I’m feeling pretty good about myself since I’ve had these babies for at least a year I was totally ahead of the fashion curve. Probably not, but I’m going to roll with it. If the sun is out, I’ve got at least two pairs of shades handy making them my numero uno must have for vacation. Don’t leave home without your sunnies. #2 SUMMER BAG

While I’m totally guilty of defaulting to a Mary Poppins size tote, I really love a fun, seasonal bag. This season there are so many great silhouettes to choose from in macrame, straw, bamboo, wood and net. I would take one of each in every shape if I could!

#3 NON MAKEUP MAKEUP

I love my foundation as much as the next Southern girl, but in the Summer I hate the weight of a lot of makeup. Where possible, I trade my foundation for a light concealer or bb cream and a good bronzing – highlighter duo. Below are some of my favorite beauty picks right now. #4 EASY SLIDES

When it’s hot and I’m constantly on the go, it is so easy to slide into a chic pair of sandals. With this being one of the top footwear trends right now, there are tons of great options to choose from. I have a pretty good assortment of neutral and basic sandals so I’ve found myself gravitating toward fun and embellished styles. These picks will instantly complete any outfit and add that element of Summer fun!

#5 ONE PIECE WONDERS

Need I say more?! Dresses are life in the Summer. I love it when I don’t have to put a lot of thought into an outfit. Fashion is life and I love it, but when the temps spike, I get instalazy and hate when things stick to me. Dresses have been a lifeline for me to throw on and go and stay cool.
