A few weeks ago, I was shopping at the new Madewell store at Atherton Mills in South End with my sweet friend Laura-Leigh (of Louella Reese). After shopping around and making mental note of our favorites, we each pointed to the same pair of green corduroy pants and said: “these are so you!” Naturally, we snagged them right up and thought it would be great to show you guys our fun, coordinating Madewell looks and how these great pants fit each of our body types.

In addition to these great pants, I wanted to tell you a little bit about why I love Madewell. For many, many years I wore J Crew jeans religiously because they had the best fit and quality for my body type. I am smaller in the waist and curvy in the butt and hips – aka I got em. I tried several designer and denim brands, but felt the best in J Crew’s fit and quality. That was until the JCrew sister store Madewell opened at SouthPark Mall. Madewell has become a fast favorite for jeans and quality denim products. It was an easy switch for me because I knew Madwell would have a similar if not better fit than JCrew. I was banking on better because while JCrew makes a good pair of jeans, it’s not their specialty. Madewell focuses on perfecting denim and offering other items to go with it. Their fit (in denim and pant styles) and quality are supreme.

Just a few weeks ago, they opened their second Charlotte location at Atherton Mill. If you’re local to Charlotte, it’s in the new building across from the existing mill. The store is beautiful and offers two incredible things the SouthPark location does not.
First, there is a men’s shop. Yes, ladies, you read correctly. You can now shop for your man and your boys. There are only a handful of locations in the country that offer a physical men’s shop and we got one. Wes is really picky about his jeans but I know he’s going to love the ones that Santa is bringing him!

The second amazing thing about the Atherton Mill Madewell is that they offer custom embroidery on site. After we tried on and picked out our looks, Laura-Leigh and I each chose a denim piece to have customized. I chose a denim jacket and she picked out a great chambray shirt – both wardrobe staples in my opinion. We will be sharing those looks a little later so stay tuned to see what we got on them and how we’re styling them. I have been a huge fan of customized denim since it came on the scene a few years ago so this is hands down my favorite thing about the store. It will be so hard for me not to have every single thing embroidered.
