This heart print shirt dress is another Draper James style I’m totally loving. Even if you are thinking this print or style may not be right for you, you have to give it a shot. The cut is so flattering and again, fits perfectly. The stripe ribbon detail on the waist gives this sweet dress a cool athletic vibe. My favorite thing about this dress: is it works equally well if you style it with heels or a classic white sneaker.

The preppy Southern charm of this heart print shirt dress gave me matchy-matchy feels so I opted for a casual vacay ready look with my fave slides that coordinated perfectly with the dress. There was a lot going on with the hearts and accessories so I kept it simple for earrings and added a simple yet chic pair of pave moon studs. I recommend sizing up in this dress too. Like the yellow dress, this waistline has no stretch or give. It does have pretty deep pockets so if you weren’t in love already, you probably are now. I can envision so many subtle ways to style this dress. For me, that is the sign of a good investment and a great dress. I always look for items that have a long life and are easy to adapt to my own style.

All practicality aside, I will also go for a dress solely based on the happy feels and this one gives me so many. You almost can’t help but be annoyingly happy in it. I’ve been doing some deep closet purging this season and getting rid of all those things I keep saying I’ll wear but haven’t in years because I’ve really been wanting to freshen up my dress assortment. After a certain amount of time, your style evolves and changes and that’s usually when I finally part with those items. I like refreshing my wardrobe each season with a few pieces so it’s really important for me to purge the old and unloved to make room for things more true to this year’s preferences. Out with the Forever21, in with the chicer investment pieces and fashion forward finds.
