Happy Thursday day babes. Today I’m tackling a topic that, somehow, in 2017 in the South is still a “hot” one. You probably guessed it: white after Labor Day! I’m sure I’ve told you guys I’m not much on the fashion rules, especially when it comes to white. I really like white and feel like it truly has life year round. And tbh, as long as it’s still reaching high 80’s & 90’s, I’m not busting out the black or dark washes. So, today I’m sharing one of the ways I transition my white jeans to Fall with this stripe cardigan.
Rise and shine y’all. Can you believe it’s already Thursday? I know we all live for the weekends but I really try not to wish my days away and truly enjoy them – even if they go by the name of Mondayyy. This week went by extra fast for me since I took a #personalday Tuesday. You may have seen some of what I was up to on my insta stories but today I’m sharing my extra casual, weekend style, off duty look.
Give me all the drama! Ruffle drama that is. Honestly, when it comes to ruffles: the bigger the better and the more the merrier. Can you think of another quip, pun, saying or phrase to emphasize my love for dramatic ruffles?! Pile it on and then throw this ruffle one shoulder top on top of the pile because it is still my favorite to date. Today I’m sharing another way to wear this amazing top I just cannot get enough of.
I just love the hot – cold balance of an outfit. I think I pretty much lived in the same outfit formula all weekend. It seems I just cannot help myself. It’s such an easy formula to follow: long sleeve shirt (I typically gravitate toward button downs), shorts, shoes and done! Today I swapped out my button downs for this printed ruffled number and transitional fall shorts. The top is a super light weight material and is easy to dress up or down with shorts, jeans or black pants for the office. The flared sleeves are subtle and noticeable yet don’t drive me nuts during the day. They also give me a hint of that cool 70’s vibe. The shorts are pretty awesome too! They were my first Marc Jacobs purchase and I got them for a total steal two years ago. They are super high waist and have a tie belt. They are a little thicker and warm for the hot summer days, but perfect for transitioning into fall. I linked some similar ones below to help you recreate the look. After being smoldering hot for two days straight I can say I’m ready for a little break in the weather. I also find myself gravitating towards team colored things (hellooooo football season!) which must mean I’m heading toward that fall state of mind earlier than I expected.
Speaking of football season, I have gotten several orders lately for team colored necklaces. (If you didn’t already know, I have been designing and making jewelry for over 10 years and have several pieces posted in the shop page. Most pieces are custom made upon request but many are listed ready to ship if you are interested!) Anyways, team colored necklaces and football fever have got me in the mood for a giveaway! There are simply toooo many colleges to choose from so in the next few weeks, I’ll be designing a Carolina Panthers necklace to giveaway to one lucky follower. What do y’all think? Sound like a good way to kick off the season?! 🙂
Which teams are you pulling for?! Let me know in the comments below!

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed it getting darker just a tick earlier lately!? I am in such a tug of war with the seasons right now! With the official start of football (pre-season at least), I find myself craving fall, yet the other half of me is holding on to summer with all my might! It’s so hard to imagine darkness at 6:00 pm and 30 degree temps in the Carolinas. While I cannot possibly be excited about the cold or the darkness, I do love fall fashion. It is cozy and fun to play with different layers and trends. I really love today’s transitional look! It is so simple yet classic. A good pair of jeans, neutral button front top and a chic silk neck scarf gives you an outfit that pretty much rocks and looks pretty effortless. The best part: you probably already have all these key pieces in your wardrobe. I stuck with the neutral colors, but you can easily make it your own by using a printed top or scarf or even some brighter tones. While I am a total accessories girl, sometimes I feel like less really is more (or I’m feeling lazy- today it’s the first). I kept it totally earthy and neutral with the grey croc cross body and python heels. At first glance I kind of felt like I was giving off that Crocodile Dundee / Steve Irwin look, but I’m choosing to think in terms of Safari Chic! 🙂 Have a great Tuesday everyone!
