Velvet Blazer

Happy New Year guys! I hope you all have had the most amazing holiday season and got to spend time with those that mean the most to you like I did. I can’t believe it’s already 2018! I couldn’t think of a better way to end / kick off the year than with a fresh post featuring the velvet blazer I basically lived in for the past month. Continue reading

Ruffle Top with shorts

I just love the hot – cold balance of an outfit. I think I pretty much lived in the same outfit formula all weekend. It seems I just cannot help myself. It’s such an easy formula to follow: long sleeve shirt (I typically gravitate toward button downs), shorts, shoes and done! Today I swapped out my button downs for this printed ruffled number and transitional fall shorts. The top is a super light weight material and is easy to dress up or down with shorts, jeans or black pants for the office. The flared sleeves are subtle and noticeable yet don’t drive me nuts during the day. They also give me a hint of that cool 70’s vibe. The shorts are pretty awesome too! They were my first Marc Jacobs purchase and I got them for a total steal two years ago. They are super high waist and have a tie belt. They are a little thicker and warm for the hot summer days, but perfect for transitioning into fall. I linked some similar ones below to help you recreate the look. After being smoldering hot for two days straight I can say I’m ready for a little break in the weather. I also find myself gravitating towards team colored things (hellooooo football season!) which must mean I’m heading toward that fall state of mind earlier than I expected.

Speaking of football season, I have gotten several orders lately for team colored necklaces. (If you didn’t already know, I have been designing and making jewelry for over 10 years and  have several pieces posted in the shop page. Most pieces are custom made upon request but many are listed ready to ship if you are interested!) Anyways, team colored necklaces and football fever have got me in the mood for a giveaway! There are simply toooo many colleges to choose from so in the next few weeks, I’ll be designing a Carolina Panthers necklace to giveaway to one lucky follower. What do y’all think? Sound like a good way to kick off the season?! 🙂

Which teams are you pulling for?! Let me know in the comments below!

Fall Dress

Good Morning loves! How was your weekend? I Hope you have your coffee because it’s Monday already. They always come so fast, especially when I’m out of town for the weekend. I seriously need a weekend for my weekend but I guess that’s why they invented the venti size coffee. Speaking of weekend, it was a good one. Wes and I went to visit his family and friends in Greensboro, just a short ride up the highway from us. We celebrated our friends first baby with an adorable shower, face-timed into Texas for a gender reveal and managed to catch a Grasshoppers game and the Wyndham Championship. Whew! did I mention I’m tired?!

Anyways, I have my large coffee and now I’m kicking off the week with this amazing floral fall dress. I absolutely love the fit and have found so many ways to style it! For today’s look I went with this romantic prairie look. The bag and the hat keep it current but the pearls are oh-so classic (and available in my shop via the link above). These Eileen Fisher booties are probably my favorite thing so far! They are the perfect neutral color and literally go with everything I have put them with. The elastic band and scrunched detail on top is subtly perfect!!! (they are also reallyyyy comfortable). I am also really into saddle bags lately. There are so many good ones out there right now, it’s hard for me to control myself. This Red Camel one from Belk was an easy choice though. All the details on this bag work perfectly together to make a really strong trend statement. I got it in black and brown so I can pair it with all my fall outfits. It’s not available just yet, but don’t worry, I’ll keep you posted the minute it hits. You’ll definitely have to have this bag this season.

Neutral Colors Fall

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed it getting darker just a tick earlier lately!? I am in such a tug of war with the seasons right now! With the official start of football (pre-season at least), I  find myself craving fall, yet the other half of me is holding on to summer with all my might! It’s so hard to imagine darkness at 6:00 pm and 30 degree temps in the Carolinas. While I cannot possibly be excited about the cold or the darkness, I do love fall fashion. It is cozy and fun to play with different layers and trends. I really love today’s transitional look! It is so simple yet classic. A good pair of jeans, neutral button front top and a chic silk neck  scarf gives you an outfit that pretty much rocks and looks pretty effortless. The best part: you probably already have all these key pieces in your wardrobe. I stuck with the neutral colors, but you can easily make it your own by using  a printed top or scarf or even some brighter tones. While I am a total accessories girl, sometimes I feel like less really is more (or I’m feeling lazy- today it’s the first). I kept it totally earthy and neutral with the grey croc cross body and python heels. At first glance I kind of felt like I was giving off that Crocodile Dundee / Steve Irwin look, but I’m choosing to think in terms of Safari Chic! 🙂 Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Margarita tee

Happy Friday Everyone!!! I can’t believe fiesta weekend is finally here. To celebrate I’m sharing my final “fiesta” look which happens to be my favorite of the bunch. This graphic tee is so on point and honestly just makes me happy (and crave margaritas). What makes it even better is the pom/ fringe detail in this clutch and all the fun fun bright colors.

I’m sorry for the delay in getting this posted but it has been a whirlwind of a week and yesterday was nutty to say the least. All I can say is that I serve and awesome God and his protection and blessings are more than I will ever deserve – AMEN!

So in the name of the weekend, I’m going to keep it quick today. Have an awesome Friday and treat yourself to a margarita because I’m off to a bachelorette party to celebrate an amazing friend and get reunited with my bestie! If you want a peek into our shenanigans on the lake this weekend follow my snapchat (taylor.davis71) or on instagram live via the feed to the right >>>.
